Beautiful Dolphins Spotted in Mumbai
Videos of Dolphins swimming near the Mumbai seashore that went viral, have stunned Mumbaikars.
Recently there were viral videos of Dolphins swimming near the Mumbai Coast. On Sunday Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla posted a video on Twitter saying “It seems Dolphins were sighted off shore near Breach Candy. Shut Down of Cities is not so bad after all”. Another video that went viral was most probably shot from the NCPA Apartments which showed a pod of Dolphins near the coast at South Mumbai.
According to some people it is because of the corona virus or Covid -19 that there is less fishing activity at the Mumbai Coast. Another theory said that along with that, there is less movement of ships at ports like JNPT which may have led to the appearance of the Dolphins.
Mr. Shaunak Modi, Co-founder of Coastal Conservation, an NGO documenting Marine Life of Mumbai said that these Indian Ocean Humpback Dolphins as they are called are part of Mumbai Coastline and have been spotted frequently in the last few years.
