Inorder to show that Assam police have zero tolerance over drugs, the CM burnt all the drugs that was seized in the last two months.

The drugs were burnt at Diphu, Golaghat, Barhampur and Hajoi in Assam. Drugs usually enter India through Assam & Nagaland from Myanmar. Sarma said he has told the Assam police officers to be very strict with drug smugglers and catch as many as possible to stop the drug racket. This is because youth get addicted to drugs, destroy their families and cause many other social problems like rapes, murders, theft, etc.
