Asian Games: India Wins Record 107 Medals

India excelled at the 19th Asian Games with 107 medals, including 28 gold, in a historic performance across various sports.

That time India had won 28 medals. Now the games are over and here is an update. India had its best-ever performance at the 19th Asian Games. India won a total of 107 medals, including 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze. With 107 medals, India finished in 4th position on the table. This is the first time that India won more than 100 medals. The final of the Men’s cricket match was played between India and Afghanistan. India won the toss and chose to bowl. However, after Afghanistan’s batting, rain disrupted the match and India couldn’t bat. Since the Indian team had a higher rank, they were given the Gold meal. The Indian men's kabaddi team won gold by defeating Iran in a controversial final. The game was temporarily suspended due to arguments but ended with India emerging as the victors. The women’s kabaddi team also won a gold medal. India's men's hockey team won gold and an Olympic quota for Paris 2024, while the women's hockey team took bronze. Indian shooters achieved remarkable success securing a total of 22 medals, including seven golds. India won medals in kabaddi, cricket, badminton, shooting, equestrian, boxing, rowing, sailing, wushu, roller skating, archery, chess, table tennis, squash, etc making it a memorable Asian Games for India in 2023. On the other hand, Pakistan could only manage to win 3 medals at the Asian Games 2023 - one silver and two bronze. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed happiness over the historic performance of the Indian contingent. What a proud moment for India!
