Anushka Sharma Respond’s to Gavaskar’s Comments

Anushka Sharma has responded to Sunil Gavaskar’s distasteful comment about her and her skipper husband Virat Kohli. Watch our latest video to learn more.

On Thursday 24th September, there was an IPL match between Kings XI Punjab vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). During the match, RCB capital Virat Kohli dropped two crucial catches of Punjab captain  KL Rahul. When he dropped the catch, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was doing the commentary. Gavaskar said Virat’s poor cricket performance was because he only practiced cricket with his wife Anushka Sharma during the lockdown. Later in the match, Virat scored only 1 run in 5 balls and got out. The next day on 25th September, Anushka posted an Instagram Story.

In her story she said:

She said, “Mr. Gavaskar, what you said was extremely wrong. Please explain why you said such a thing. If a man is not playing well, why would you blame his wife? Why can’t you respect mine and Virat’s personal life?”

Since I and Virat were in a relationship, I have been blamed for his poor performance. It’s 2020 now and this is still happening. Nothing has changed for me. Everyone needs to stop dragging me into cricket. Fans also were not happy with Gavaskar’s comments and many even asked BCCI to remove Gavaskar from the commentator’s panel.
