Another Dangerous Fire at Beirut Port

Almost a month back on 4th August 2020, there was a huge explosion in a port in Beirut, Lebanon. The strong explosion killed 190 people and thousands were injured. Now another fire erupted on 10th September 2020 at the same port. The Lebanese Army said that a fire erupted at a warehouse storing oils and tires in the port’s duty free area. Thick black smoke was seen emerging at the site. There is no information about how the fire started. According to local reports, officials were clearing the area to remove debris from last month's explosion. Fortunately nobody was injured. 

The Lebanese Army was working to extinguish the flames and helicopters were used to throw water and douse the fire. Images of the fire went viral on social media. People are angry that such a fire has happened again at the same place. The Lebanese people have accused the government of corruption and inefficiency.
