Anil Deshmukh Arrested in Money Laundering Case

Maharashtra's former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.

Maharashtra's former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was accused of corruption and extortion by Mumbai's ex top cop Param Bir Singh. Mumbai's ex top cop Param Bir Singh was removed from his post for not investigating the Mukesh Ambani bomb scare matter properly. A few days after his removal he wrote a letter  to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and  accused Mr Deshmukh of interference and using the police to extort up to ? 100 crore every month. Even as the NCP leader rubbished the allegations and threatened to file a case against Singh for spoiling his name. 

There were many cases filed against Singh as well. Now Param Bir Singh is missing. According to a Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam, Singh escaped India via Nepal and is now hiding in Belgium. Now the Enforcement Directorate questioned Anil Deshmukh for more than 12 hours yesterday and then he was arrested.
