Akshay Kumar to Replace Kartik Aryan in Dostana 2?
After Kartik Aryan was dropped Dostana 2, the sources have said that Dharma Productions has requested Akshay Kumar to come on board the film, and save them from bearing any further losses.
The 2008 film Dostana starred Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham in lead roles. The film was about two boys who in order to get a place to live, lied that they are gay. This movie received a lot of criticism as people said it showed Gay people in a negative way. Yet, it was a hit movie. Karan Johar had then announced that he will be releasing Dostana 2 soon. In part 2 Kartik Aryaan, Janhvi Kapoor, and debutant Laksh Lalwani will be acting. Dostana 2 is about a brother and sister who fall in love with the same boy. Recently, Karan Johar's production house Dharma Productions announced that actor Kartik Aaryan will not be a part of Dostana 2. They released an official announcement on 16th April that due to differences in ideas and issues with Kartik Aryan they have decided to remove him from Dostana 2. They also said that they are very professional so they will not reveal the exact problem but said that they will be selecting another actor for Dostana 2. Dharma productions did not give the actual reason but according to sources there is a big problem between Dharma Production and Kartik Aryan. In 2019, he had read the script, agreed to it and shot for 20 days in 2019. But now after one and a half years, he is having issues with the script. He and the production company are not agreeing on the same points / ideas.
There are also rumours that Kartik Aryan did not give clear dates for the shooting. PeepingMoon.com is a website which gives news on Bollywood. They have reported Karan Johar is very upset with Kartik Aryan’s unprofessional behaviour. He has promised that his company Dharma Productions or his other film business will never work with Kartik again. According to sources, “Karan Johar has personally requested Akshay to come on board Dostana 2 and help him out, as lots of money has already been invested in the shoot of the film. So, in all likelihood, Akshay will join the cast.” Meanwhile, Karan Johar has even unfollowed Kartik Aaryan on his Instagram, while Kartik Aaryan still follows him on instagram.
