When Sushant Singh Rajput died, the Mumbai police, based on the autopsy performed by Cooper Hospital, called it a suicide. However, there were a lot of rumours and people on social media kept insisting that it was murder. Even Sushant’s family said it wasn’t a suicide. The CBI is investigating the case. A team of doctors from Delhi's AIIMS have now completed the examination of Sushant’s body. The team of doctors has said that Sushant died by suicide. They said there is no evidence that suggests that Sushant was murdered. "There were no injuries on the body other than hanging. There were no marks of struggle/scuffle on the body and clothes. There's no strangling. The ligature marks on his neck show that he died by hanging.

Dr Adarsh Kumar from the forensic medicine and toxicology department of AIIMS told India Today's Special Investigation Team, “There is no confusion about the fact that Sushant hanged himself. The chapter is closed now.” Vikas Singh is the lawyer representing Sushant’s family. He said that the report is not proper. He has demanded the CBI perform another forensic analysis.
