Afghanistan Cricketer Distributes Money to Poor in Ahmedabad
Afghanistan batman Rahmanullah Gurbaz distributed money to homeless people sleeping on the roads in Ahmedabad during Diwali.
Everyone is surprised by Afghanistan’s performance in ICC Men’s World Cup 2023. The team won many hearts by defeating the Netherlands & three former champion teams – Pakistan, England & Sri Lanka. While the Afghanistan team ranks 6th on the point chart & didn’t qualify for the semifinals, the love for the team continues to grow around the world & especially in India. All thanks to the 21 years old Afghanistan batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz. A video of Rahmanullah Gurbaz silently keeping money next to homeless people sleeping on the streets of Ahmedabad during Diwali has gone viral on social media. The video was shot at 3 am on 11th November 2023, after Afghanistan lost to South Africa in Ahmedabad. The video was posted by local RJ Love Shah on Instagram & then reposted by Kolkata Knight Riders. Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been the wicketkeeper & batsman of IPL’s Kolkata Knight Riders since 2017. The video has already received some 35 lakh views. RJ Shah spotted Gurbaznear his house. He said that he saw Gurbaz getting out of the car & interacting with a woman near the footpath at 3 am in the morning. He then put something next to the people sleeping on the footpath & left. Shah did not approach him as he didn’t want to disturb him but later when he checked, he was surprised to see that Gurbaz had left Rs. 500/- notes next to the people. This gesture of Gurbaz is being loved by everyone. The video has received lakhs of likes & thousands of positive comments on Instagram. According to one of Afghanistan’s team management members, this is not the first time Gurbaz has done charity. The member mentioned that Gurbaz often engages in charity in this way and is also actively involved in many charitable activities in Afghanistan. Gurbaz’s generous action showcases his compassion.
