Actor Pearl V Puri Arrested For Raping 5-Year-old
Television actor Pearl V Puri has been arrested by Vasai police for allegedly sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in 2019.
Pearl V Puri became famous after acting in Ekta Kapoor's productions Naagin 3 (2018–19) and Bepanah Pyaar (2019–20) respectively. On 5th June, Television actor Pearl V Puri was arrested by Vasai police for allegedly sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in 2019. According to the police, a complaint was lodged by the minor’s father in 2019, but at that time, the identity of the accused was not established. Sanjay Patil, DCP, zone 2 Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate, said, “The girl identified Pearl recently, and after recording her statement, we arrested him.” He claimed that the victim's mother used to work on the sets of the TV show and hence, the victim would accompany her which is how Pearl V Puri and the victim met. Vasai police then produced him before a court. The court sent him to jail for two weeks.
He has now been granted bail. A minor girl had filed a case against the actor some years back alleging that Pearl took sexual favours from her on the pretext of getting her work on TV. Ekta Kapoor responded to this news by claiming that the charges are false and in an Instagram post, revealed that she has voice notes from the victim's mother refuting the charges. Ekta Kapoor, too, wrote a long note stating that Pearl is being framed wrongly. Ekta, who has worked with Pearl, said that she spoke to Pearl's co-actor and confirmed the news that the allegations against him are false. Nia Sharma, Anita Hassanandani, Adhvik Mahajan, Krystle D'souza and many other actors have offered their support publicly to Pearl V Puri.
