Actor Govinda Heading For Divorce After 37 Years of Marriage?
Bollywood actor Govinda and wife Sunita Ahuja face divorce rumors after 37 years of marriage, with reports of separation and past controversies adding to the speculation.
Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja, married for 37 years, are reportedly heading for a divorce. The couple tied the knot in March 1987 and have two children—son Yashvardan (27) and daughter Narmada (35). According to reports, Sunita sent a "separation notice" to Govinda a few months ago, but neither has officially commented on the rumors.
Sources claim the couple has been living apart for some time due to differences in their lifestyles and issues caused by family members. Govinda’s manager stated that while there have been problems, they are trying to resolve them. Govinda is currently busy with a new film and has not addressed the divorce rumors directly.
The couple’s relationship has faced challenges in the past. In the late 90s, rumors of Govinda’s closeness with actress Rani Mukerji during the filming of *Hadh Kar Di Aapne* caused tension in his marriage. Though Rani denied any romantic involvement, the gossip left a mark. Recently, reports suggested that Govinda’s alleged relationship with a Marathi actress may have contributed to the separation.
In an interview, Sunita confirmed living separately from Govinda, stating, “We have two houses—a bungalow and a flat. I stay in the flat with my kids and my temple.” She also shared her disappointment about Govinda’s lack of time for family outings, saying, “I have told him that in my next life, he shouldn’t be my husband.”
On Valentine’s Day, Sunita was seen with her son and joked, “Sir (Govinda) is with his Valentine. Don’t get the wrong idea. He loves his work a lot, so work is his Valentine.”
Family members, including Govinda’s niece Arti Singh and nephew Krushna Abhishek, have dismissed the divorce rumors, calling them false. Krushna said, “This is not possible. They won’t divorce.”
Adding to the drama, a few months ago, Govinda accidentally shot himself in the foot while cleaning his licensed gun. He recovered well, but some speculate if the incident is linked to the ongoing marital issues.
As the rumors swirl, fans await an official statement from the couple. For now, the future of Govinda and Sunita’s 37-year marriage remains uncertain.
