5 Men Kill Gangster Inside ICU, Cameras, Guards, No One Stops Them
Five armed men shot and killed a gangster inside a Patna hospital ICU and escaped, exposing a shocking failure in Bihar's law and order system.
In a shocking incident, a gangster was shot dead inside a hospital in Patna, Bihar. This happened on the morning of 17 July 2025 at Paras Hospital, around 7:15 AM.
Five armed men calmly entered the hospital, pretending to be normal visitors. They were even seen loading their country-made pistols inside the hospital corridors before reaching ICU Room 209 on the second floor.
Inside the room, they opened fire on Chandan Mishra, a gangster from Buxar who was recovering from liver surgery under police custody. He was shot at least five times. Two of his aides were also injured in the attack. After shooting, one of the attackers was seen waving his gun, almost as if celebrating. The attackers then escaped in a white car and two motorcycles.
Chandan was not an ordinary patient. He had over 24 serious criminal cases like murder, kidnapping, and extortion. He was in Beur Jail, Patna, and had been brought to the hospital for treatment under police guard.
What is most shocking is that there were CCTV cameras, hospital staff, and police security present. Yet, these men managed to walk in, kill someone, and escape without any resistance.
The incident has raised big questions on the law and order situation in Bihar. The opposition is calling it a complete failure of the system.
The Patna Police quickly formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and within a few days, all five accused were arrested in Kolkata. They had changed their SIM cards, moved through different states, and switched hideouts to avoid arrest. But police tracked them through call records and CCTV footage.
The five were found hiding in a flat. Four of them were directly involved in the shooting. Police are checking if the fifth accused helped in the murder or only gave shelter.
The mastermind behind this murder is believed to be Nishu Khan, a physically disabled man with a criminal background. Police say the accused wanted to take revenge for an earlier gang killing.
Five policemen who were supposed to guard the ICU have been suspended for not doing their duty properly. Patna Police are also searching in Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal for others connected to the case.
People across the country are shocked. Hospitals are meant for treatment, not for violence and crime. This incident shows how dangerous and fearless some criminals have become.
