42 Jawans Killed in J&K Terrorist Attack

A suicide bomber rammed into a vehicle carrying CRPF personnel in the Pulwama District of Kashmir. 42 officers have lost their lives in this horrible tragedy.

CRPF is the Central Reserve Police Force. It is India’s largest police force in India. They help the police in different states to maintain law and order. On 14 February 2019 at 3:15 pm, 2,500 CRPF officers in a group of 78 vehicles were returning to resume duty in Kashmir after a holiday. On the Srinagar-Jammu Highway in the Pulwama District, a man rammed a vehicle loaded with 100 kg of bombs into one of their buses.

It was a very powerful explosion and the bus was completely destroyed because of the bomb. The CRPF headquarters in Delhi said that nobody in the bus survived. 42 officers died and many are seriously injured. The injured are being treated at an army hospital in Srinagar.

The Pakistan terrorist group, Jaish-e-Mohammed [JeM] said they were responsible for this attack. In response to this attack, PM Modi said that he is very sad that so many officers lost their lives. He said that the government will make sure to take strong action. After a long time such an attack has taken place in Kashmir.
