4 Train For Gaganyaan Mission in Russia

Four astronauts have been selected for a rigorous training session in Russia for the Gaganyaan project.

ISRO has selected four astronauts for the Gaganyaan Project.This project aims to send three Indians into space in a spacecraft that will be made in India. These 4 astronauts will leave by the end of January and go to Russia for training.According to K Sivan the Chief of ISRO, the work on Gaganyaan is going smoothly. There is no information about the four people who have been selected for the mission. 

However, previous reports citing Dr Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State for Atomic Energy and Space, had said that all the four astronauts selected for the mission are men.The men will train in Russia for a period of 11 months. They learn how to control the spacecraft, communications, and other technical functions. After this they will come back to India and learn how to operate the India spacecraft built by ISRO. The Gaganyaan project costs Rs 1,000 crore.They aim to finish work and launch the spacecraft in 2022. This would be India's first-ever manned space mission and make the country one of the few nations with the ability to fly humans into space.
