3 MLA's & 50 TMC Councillors switch to BJP in West Bengal

3 MLA’s & Councillors from Mamta Banerjee’s TMC switch to the BJP in West Bengal.

With the losses sustained by Chief Minister of West Bengal  Mamta Banerjee in the Lok Sabha elections three MLAs from Congress and CPM have switched sides to BJP. Along with them 50 Civic Councillors have also switched to the BJP taking with them the control of over four Municipalities.

The three MLA’s who crossed over were; Tushar Kanti Bhattacharya (Congress) and Debendra Roy (CPM). The shock came when Mukul Roy a close confidante of Mamta banerjee left the TMC for the BJP. His son MLA Subhrangshu Roy has followed his father to the BJP as well.

Mamata Banerjee has called for a shuffling of her cabinet as a routine operation after elections.  Many are saying the announcement coming only a few hours after so many people from her TMC party decided to switch sides this was a panic move trying to cover her losses.
