2 Suspects in Moosewala’s Murder Killed in Police Encounter

Two gangsters, who were suspected to be among the shooters in singer Sidhu Moose Wala's murder case, were killed in a shootout with the police

Sidhu Moose Wala who was a 28-year-old Congress leader, a singer-songwriter and rapper, was shot dead near his village Moosa in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29. Police sources said that Mannu Kussa had fired the first shots at Moose Wala from an AK-47 rifle. Police from Punjab, Delhi and Mumbai are investigating the case. The murder was allegedly planned by Canada-based Gangster, Goldy Brar, in coordination with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who was already in Delhi's Tihar Jail. Now about four gangsters including two shooters, Jagroop Singh Roopa, Mannu Kussa , who were involved in Sidhu Moose Wala murder were planning to cross the border to Pakistan. They were killed in an encounter with Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force on 20th July. According to reports, two policemen have sustained bullet injuries and two civilians were also injured. In the crossfire, a news channel's cameraperson also got a bullet injury in his right leg. An AK47, foreign-made pistols, and a large number of bullets and magazines were found in their possession. The search operation is still being carried out in the [e haveli in Bhakna village which is close to Attari border where they were hiding. 

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said, "We were keeping track of accused in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case and our task force saw some movement in this area. We acted upon it. Our forensic team is at the spot for further investigation. Heavy exchange of fire took place today, 2 gangsters involved in Sidhu Moose Wala case namely Jagroop Singh Roopa & Manpreet Singh killed.” Ambulances had reached the spot just minutes before police declared Jagroop Roopa dead. The area, around 10 km from the border with Pakistan, had been covered and people were told to stay indoors. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann congratulated the state police and the anti-gangster task force for successfully executing an operation against two gangsters in the state.
