Proteins are very important for the human body. Each and every cell in our body contains protein. In order to   build muscle, protein is very important. When any muscle is injured, protein helps to repair that muscle,bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood.. Usually the food products that have maximum protein are animal meat like Chicken, Mutton, eggs, etc. In your daily diet you must include protein to make sure your body functions well.  You do not have to switch to eating non vegetarian food to eat more protein. 

Here are the top vegetarian sources of Protein: 

1. Soyabean:

Many products are made from Soybean. For example, soy chunks, soy milk, tofu, etc. All these products are very high in protein. The protein in Soy is equal to the protein in non-veg items like eggs, chicken, etc.  As long as your diet includes soy you do not have to worry about protein deficiency.

 2. Dairy:

Dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.) are very high in Calcium but they also contain a lot of protein in them. A cup of milk will give you about 8 grams of protein. Even paneer is very high in protein. 

3. Nuts 

Nuts and other seeds have a lot of protein. Switching to Nut butters like peanut butter and almond butter instead of normal butter will increase your protein intake in a day.  They are also rich in fiber, healthy fats, iron, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. However, do not eat too much if you want to lose weight as it does have some fat in it. 

4. Dals & Pulses 

An Indian way to get more protein into the body for vegetarians is by including more dals and beans like Rajma, Chole, Black Channa in your diet. According to researchers, one cup of dal contains 18 grams of protein and 15 grams of fiber, with no fats. 

5. Green Vegetables 

Green vegetables have more protein than any meat. This is a fact. Broccoli and Spinach contains more protein chicken, beef and mutton. Along with protein you get many other nutrients as well. So make sure you eat green vegetables often.
