Can Wearing Tight Jeans Kill You?

Do you know, wearing these tightly fitted jeans has numerous side effects on our health as well?

Although in 2022, who doesn't wear tight and skin fitted jeans? Moreover, over the years, some of us have even developed the habit of wearing these jeans throughout the day. But do you know, wearing these tightly fitted jeans has numerous side effects on our health as well? Here is the list of side effects which are caused because of tight skin fitted jeans.

1. Vulvodynia

A research journal on genital tract disease found that tight-fitting jeans or skinny pants cause Vulvodynia. Vulvodynia is a condition that causes discomfort and chronic pain in the private area. Tight-fitting jeans are also linked to vaginal irritation, infection. These issues occur due to the jeans restricting airflow and blood flow in your lower body.

2. Permanent Muscle Damage

Skinny jeans cause muscle and nerve damage. Case studies by the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry found that squatting in skinny jeans for long causes a condition called compartment syndrome, which occurs when blood supply is cut off to a particular part of the body. This syndrome is characterized by swelling that occurs around the nerve, muscle and blood vessels.

3. Infertility in Men

Wearing skinny jeans is a terrible idea for men, too. It affects their reproductive health and also causes urinary tract infection along with other health issues. Testicular torsion is a common condition in men who use skinny jeans continuously. Wearing these jeans for a prolonged duration also causes cancer and damage to private parts in men.

4. Joint Issues and Back Pain

Using skinny jeans increases stress in discs, affecting the lower back in men and women. Additionally, it could cause issues in the spine and pelvis in men and women due to the abnormal movement and posture while wearing tight pants. This issue caused by the poor posture that leads to nerve damage is called “skinny jean syndrome”.

5. Abdominal Pain

Just the way wearing a tight belt causes pain in the abdomen and pelvic area: your tight pants squeeze your abdomen and waist, restricting the blood flow. It is also bad for your hip joints and spine and affects your posture.

6. Blood Clotting

Wearing tight jeans is the primary reason for poor blood circulation in the lower body, eventually leading to blood clotting. While being constricted inside the tight pants, the nerves are subject to constant pressure that eventually results in pain around the thighs. This issue is often indicated by tingling, burning, and discomfort in the legs.
