Baba Harbhajan Singh - The Soldier Who Never Died

Our Life Cycle Revolves Around The Concept of Birth & Death, But what if we tell you the story of an Indian Soldier who even after leaving his body never actually died.

According to the laws of Life, Anyone who is born will die at some point of time.

Well there is one exception.

Now before you start calling us crazy, let us tell you that there is one such soldier in the Indian army who is often termed as A Soldier- Who Never Died.
A Soldier who even has a temple in his name.

In today's video we’ll be talking about Baba Harbhajan Singh, A brave soldier of the Indian Army.

Baba Harbhajan Singh- Born on 30th August, 1946. Born in a Sikh Family, In a village called  Sadhrana which is now in Pakistan.
Harbhajan Singh completed his primary education and then decided to join the Indian Army on 12th February 1966 as a sepoy which is a very low rank in the Indian Army.

But later just after 2 Years & 2 months of service & uncountable numbers of heroic contributions to the Indian Army his soul left his body on 4th October, 1968 when natural disaster hit the borders of Sikkim [Banner 05 (near Nathula Pass) where he was posted.

He was carrying military supplies (Guns, Bullets, Food etc) for his fellow army persons when the snow storm forced him to stop on a glacier (A very large thick land of Snow which is formed after years of continuous snowing).

After a few hours of resisting the storm, he slipped and fell inside a water stream.

After about 3 days of searching, his body was later found 2 kms ahead of the place where he slipped, and was cremated with full Military honors. Harbhajan Singh is alleged to have assisted other guys in locating his body.

But this was not the end. This was actually the beginning of the story.

Baba Harbhajan Singh continues to help the Indian army even today after 53 Years of his death.

Yes you heard it right, His Soul according to various credible sources is still serving the Indian Army.

He has been called as the protector of any Indian Soldier who is posted in the indo-china borders in Sikkim.

With his extraordinary performance and bravery he was finally awarded with the Honorary Captain rank.

Several people from the Indian Army have reported seeing Baba Harbhajan Singh in their dreams with exact positions of the enemy and the strategies to fight them, which surprisingly  later turns out to be true.

Also according to various stories , every Army man who is not properly dressed with a clean and tidy Indian Army’s Uniform is slapped by him.

His own uniform which is kept in the public view as his memory, is not cleaned by anyone as somehow it cleans itself naturally.

Not just that, this brave Indian Hero was never considered dead, and full salary according to his grade and cadre in the army was credited to his mother until 31st December 2016.

When he was considered retired, his pension is still sent to his family even today.

Also he was awarded with Mahavir-Chakra which is India’s Second highest bravery Award after his soul left his body in 1968.

Baba Harbhajan also got leave starting from 11th September every year until 2016, before his retirement,

Where a train seat used to be reserved in his name from the nearest railway station which is the New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal to his home land in Punjab.

A seat is left vacant in his name where his belongings are carried along with 3 Soldiers to his home land in Punjab.

Moreover even today he is deeply and very greatly respected by troops and people not just from India, but also by the troops in the Chinese Army.

Beliefs of him being present with us among the locals even today are so high, that a temple has been constructed in his name.

Yes, there is a temple created in the memory of Baba Harbhajan Singh in Gangtok.

Although it is a temple, it is a temple of different kinds. It is dedicated to selflessness, bravery & sacrifice rather than being dedicated to a particular faith.

So if you ever plan to visit Gangtok, don't miss the opportunity to visit this temple.

So, this was the story of India’s own braveheart, the son of our soil who “Actually Never Died”- This was the story of Honorary Captain Baba Harbhajan Singh.
