Wearing a face mask is necessary during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. See the video to know some tips which will help you solve skin problems caused due to wearing masks.

Wearing a face mask is necessary during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But wearing a face cover frequently causes acne. This is because the mask traps dirt and oil in pores. However, this does not mean that you do not wear a mask. You can solve these skin problems by following these tips. Let me tell you.

  1. Avoid Synthetic Fabrics.

Avoid masks made with synthetic fabrics such as nylon, polyester, and rayon. These can irritate your skin. Use masks that are a comfortable fit, feel soft, natural, and are made of a breathable fabric like cotton.

  1.  Wash Your Mask:

If you are using reusable masks, make sure to wash your mask after every use. This will remove oils and dead skin cells that collect inside the mask. If the mask is not washed, the dirt will remain in the mask and cause pimples and other skin problems.

  1.  Moisturize Your Skin:

Another common face mask problem is dry skin. Applying moisturizer adds a protective layer that reduces dryness. So apply some moisturizer before wearing a mask.

  1. Cleanse and Exfoliate:

When you remove your mask, it is advised that you use a gentle face scrub to exfoliate your face. It will remove all the built up dirt from your face and prevent pimples.

  1.  Avoid Heavy Make-up and Skin Products:

Avoid using heavy and oily products such as foundation or thick creams. When you wear face masks for long, such heavy products will get trapped in your skin under the mask. This can cause pimples.

If you have to wear masks for long hours take a 15-minute mask break. Healthcare workers have found this to be helpful in protecting their skin. Remove your mask only when it is safe to do so. Whenever you remove your mask, make sure to keep it in a clean place. Always wash your hand after touching the mask.
