The NHSRCL is now planning to make the Ahmedabad-Delhi Bullet train. For this they have invited tenders- means they have invited organisations to submit proposals to conduct data collections and survey work for the project. The Ahmedabad-Delhi train route will be 886km and will pass through Jaipur, Udaipur and Rajasthan. The NHSRCL is a Joint Venture between the Indian Government and the participating State Governments such as Maharashtra and Gujarat.

The Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav said despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train will be completed on time in December 2023. 80% of the project will be funded by taking a loan from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). JICA will give a loan of Rs 1 trillion and the Maharashtra and Gujarat Government will have to pay the amount back in 20 years time.
