VAD Organises Deaf Festival in Nagpur

To celebrate their 5th anniversary, the Vidarbha Association of the Deaf (VAD) has organised an exciting Deaf Festival in nagpur. Watch the video for all the details.

Vidarbha Association of the Deaf is an association that works to solve the problems of Deaf people in Maharashtra. They do this to empower them so that they live a happy life in the society. The Association was founded in 2014. Their President is Akbar Dhamani and their General Secretary is Sandeep Lahoti. Their advisor is Kamlesh Dongre. Since the association has completed 5 years. To celebrate the 5th anniversary they have organised a Deaf Festival. 

It will be held on 24th November 2019 at Nagpur. The Venue details are. (Photo of venue) 

Timings are from 8:30am to 6:30pm. 

Two Deaf leaders will be coming to give lectures.

  1. Mr Anuj Jain Executive Director of NAD which stands for National Association of the Deaf will be giving a lecture about the history of NAD’s lobby and advocacy with the government. 

He will also talk about the 22nd session of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD) in UN at Geneva, Switzerland which was held from 31st August to 4th September 2019. 

  1.  Manoj Patwari the President of SLAD will also come and give a lecture. He will give a lecture about the 14 demands of SLAD out of which 6 were accepted by the Government. 

Are excited to attend these lectures? Wait there is more! After the lectures there w3ill be exciting activities such as lucky draw, lighting lamps, drama, etc. Lunch will be served as well.
